Cafe Review: Chapels on Whatley, Maylands

During my Perth trip, we headed into Maylands to check out the area. It has come a long way since I have last been there - now there are cute cafes and lots of little boutiques and stores, selling retro and vintage wares amongst other things. We had planned to check out a cafe called Mrs. S, which came recommended. Unfortunately it was closed for an extended break. Just around the corner, we found a spot called Chapels. This is a furniture and antiques store which also houses a cafe. It has super cute decor:

I had the house made iced tea (yummy!) and rose tea scones with condiments. Service was friendly and fast. I would definitely return to sample the lunch menu. Even though they call it 'Brunch' as well, it doesn't have any typical brunch-esque food (eggs etc), so I wouldn't tout it as a brunch spot.

My only gripe is that for a furniture store, the chairs are mighty uncomfortable! They have a lovely courtyard area out the back as pictured above, so it's perfect for making the most of Perth's summer.

  1. It looks like a cool place. Did you visit any oppies in Maylands? The Salvo's one is super expensive.

  2. Nope, didn't even know there was a Salvos in Maylands. It's a pity they're expensive - I hate how more and more op shops are heading in this direction!
