Brunch Review: Millpoint Caffe Bookshop, South Perth

It was a gorgeous sunny morning, so what better place to eat brunch than at Millpoint Caffe with its lovely outdoor courtyard. This is one to add to the "hangover cure" list, as I noticed they serve breakfast until 3pm when the kitchen closes. There aren't enough all day brekkies in Perth!

There is both indoor and outdoor sitting, and the inside is also a book store (as the name suggests).

We sat outside in the sunshine:

The Scoring
Menu variety / creativity: 6.5/10. A short and sweet menu. French toast or pancakes on the sweet front, and your usual selection of savoury dishes.

Taste:  7/10. Simple but delicious. My eggs were scrambled to perfection (if that's possible) and had a nice amount of goats cheese (which wasn't overpowering).

Coffee: 6/10. Below average, I wasn't a huge fan.

Setting / location: 8/10. I love the courtyard, perfect for a sunny day, and the inside seating is cute and cosy as well. It is dog friendly outside (unfortunately we witnessed 2 dogs fighting, which resulted in a table being overturned with plates etc smashing, and it was a pretty harrowing thing to watch. I can totally understand why most cafes don't allow pets!)

Service: 7.5/10. No complaints here, and the food came out quickly. You order at the counter and meals are brought to the table.

Price: 8/10. Coffees are what I now realise is standard for Perth ($3.90 for a regular, $4.50 mug). The meals are very reasonably priced, I think our cheesy scrambled eggs was around $13 and they really hit the spot. We had an entertainment book voucher which made it even cheaper, score!

Verdict: Perfect for a casual brunch with friends. If I lived in the area, this would be a regular haunt on sunny days. The food isn't mind blowing but it's simple and satisfying, at a decent price. I'd go there again!
